PayTap is an identity-verification tool — not a payment processor.
PayTap does not process payments, hold funds, or move money. Verifying an identity on PayTap does not guarantee any transfer. Users move money at their own risk directly through their Mobile Money or bank providers.
1. What PayTap is
PayTap is an identity-verification and payment-request tool that helps people share a verified Mobile Money or bank identity so senders reach the right recipient. PayTap is not a bank, e-money issuer, payment institution, or financial intermediary.
2. Disclaimer of liability
PayTap verifies identities but does not guarantee, execute, or take responsibility for any actual money transfer. All transfers happen directly between the sender and receiver via their own Mobile Money or bank providers. PayTap is not liable for:
- Failed, delayed, reversed, or misdirected transfers.
- Fees charged by Mobile Money or bank providers.
- Disputes between senders and receivers.
- Losses caused by users sharing incorrect information or acting on unverified links.
3. Your obligations
- Provide accurate, real, and current information (name, phone, bank details).
- Only register a payment identity that legally belongs to you.
- Do not impersonate any person, business, or institution.
- One identity per person — no duplicate or fake accounts.
- Keep your account credentials confidential.
4. Prohibited uses
- Impersonation of individuals, businesses, government bodies, or financial institutions.
- Fraud, phishing, or any deceptive collection of payments.
- Automated harvesting of user data, numbers, or PayTags.
- Reverse engineering, scraping, or abusing platform APIs.
- Any use that violates Cameroonian or CEMAC law.
5. Account suspension and termination
PayTap may suspend or terminate any account that violates these Terms, is reported for fraud or impersonation, or presents a security risk — with or without notice. Suspended users may appeal via support@mypaytap.app.
6. No warranty
PayTap is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant uninterrupted service, error-free operation, or that the service will meet any specific requirement.
7. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Cameroon and applicable CEMAC regulations. Disputes shall be resolved before the competent courts of Douala, Cameroon.
8. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced via in-app banner and email to registered users at least 7 days before taking effect. Continued use of PayTap after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
